Theres always a first time for everything.
You try it for the first time,
You like it,
You'll consider doing it more often in the future.
It was considered a last minute thing,
an offer which might only come once.
Every decision you make will have it's consequences.
The only thing that matters is whether its a good one or a bad one.
I guess the answer is a good one.
It was last night, late last night.
I got an IM from a close friend, telling me he is nervous.
So, I asked. Why?
He told me he was afraid he might not sing well and I replied with a few quite encouraging lines.
Then, he asked me if I wanted to help with the backup.
Without thinking, I just answered
"I''ll be there early"
When I finally got to understand the whole thing, I was like oh damn what did I just said.
Laid down on the bed and thought about it for awhile before sleeping.
I ask myself this question, "Why wouldn't you wanna do it?"
The first thing that came to my mind was freezing while singing on the mic.
I thought I wasn't ready for all these things.
The next day,
I didn't care about what I promised to do and just go there earlier to see whats gonna happen.
Bryan asked me to help out with the backup but I tried to avoid.
The next thing I know is that I'm holding a mic from Angeline.
I did sang for awhile but the mic was way too far to receive my voice.
Slowly after a few songs, I started to move the mic closer and closer.
Took a deep breath and just sang with everything I've got.
From there, I gained confidence and didn't care how bad I'd sing.
Then came the songs for youth worship.
It was kinda tough for me since I wasn't familiar with 2 of the songs.
So, I just followed Hui Zen thru the whole songs.
When the worship started, I was this close to freezing
and you smiled at me. Yes you Evelyn.
That smile was like saying "Go ahead and sing, its alright."
then, Victor gave me a smile that says
"You're doing well up there Joel."
It was definitely a good experience.
I guess its okay to be shy.
Theres no wrong for singing badly.
Theres a first time for everything.
